This course introduce the key concepts regarding patient safety. Course focuses on national legislation and strategic basis and patient safety from the point of view of patient, health care team, and system level in learning organization. After completing the course student is able to analyze management role and teamwork with patient safety in all main patient safety areas, analyze meaning of patient safety culture in error prevention, apply medication safety tools, critically evaluate the situation, and know how to use root cause analysis method, either evaluate in essay the main topics in patient safety research or evaluate their own past patient safety experience to learn from it.
