Thailand

A group of Thai teachers completed the Media Skills in Digital Learning Environments course, on which they improved their skills in being a teacher in this digital era.

Bringing out the best of Finnish teacher training, the lessons learnt during the course can be easily put to practice in the teachers’ own classrooms. The course was offered online in collaboration between the University of Eastern Finland and the Ministry of Education in Thailand.

China

The joint degree in renewable energy has been a great success story in China for almost ten years already. The program is created and implemented jointly by Karelia University of Applied Sciences and its Chinese partner, and accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Culture. The student enrolment is 100 students a year, and graduates have been very well received by the employers. The graduates have key competences and skills to promote more sustainable and responsible energy solutions in China. Thus, it will have a significant impact in the long-run. Recently the programme passed successfully the re-evaluation process by the Chinese MoE.

Savonia University of Applied Sciences has been a long-term and stable strategic partner with several education agencies in China consistently demonstrating high efficiency, professionalism, abundance of resources, stability, and a high credit rating. Finland is at the forefront of countries that have achieved the sustainable development goals and was ranked as the world’s number one in 2021. In the same year, Savonia University of Applied Sciences signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Yuanyang Education on “double carbon green education”, in line with China’s “3060 double carbon goals.” Currently, Savonia offers online/offline courses, teacher training programs, and exchange and degree programs that focus on carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Savonia understands the Chinese education market and is committed to cooperating, sharing, and exchanging experiences and resources on sustainable development and double carbon goals.
