Sm4rt LOC is a globally unique Learning Observation Classroom. The learning environment is located on the UEF´s Joensuu campus, in rooms E001 and E002 of the Educa building.The space is intended for research and teaching use, in which escape game pedagogical interventions are carried out. - The project has been implemented in co-operation as a 2020 demo project of the University of Eastern Finland and University Properties Ltd. The pedagogical content of the space has been built in co-operation with teacher training, department of computer science and physics, and the Joensuu Media Center.
- The aim of the project was to produce a multi-functional space that allows the observation of learning through accurate audio and video monitoring. The second purpose was to create space for problem-solving tasks, i.e. escape games. The space was designed to serve both teaching and research staff and students.
- The modernization of the premises into attractive self studying and multi-purpose facilities were important starting points for the implementation of the project.
